Kanta-Häme Hospital District (KHHD) has used Medanets mobile point-of-care documentation since 2011.
Kanta-Häme Hospital District is one of the first customers of Medanets. The mobile point-of-care application was first introduced at KHHD ‘s Acute Neurology ward in 2011. Since then, the use of the solution has expanded to seven wards, two of which also use Medanets automatic data transferring.
The implementation went very well, and during that time we got support when we needed it. Negotiations with Medanets also worked well – e.g. meetings flexibly with Skype when needed to change the plans.

Immediate access to real-time patient data
With Medanets application, patient-related information and observations are recorded directly into the Electronic Health Record via mobile device while with the patient. In this way, care staff is able to improve the efficiency and accuracy of documentation, also making it possible for all healthcare professionals to have immediate access to real-time patient data.
At first, the solution was deployed in wards with Windows Mobile devices. In the summer of 2017, the mobile devices were exchanged for Android smartphones, and thus the wards also got access to the latest, upgraded version of the Medanets mobile documentation application. New devices and an updated version of the application bring more comfort to nursing.
Feedback from care staff has been positive

“Satisfied with the new device – Android device fits nicely in hand.”
“It is good for the evaluation and reacting process of nursing to see the patient’s previously measured observation values.”
“It’s easy when all desired observation values can be chosen in “a single block” and then the solution asks for values in order – saves time.”
“To measured observation values, additional information can be easily and quickly added as a text form, e.g. an oxygen flow rate to saturation level.”
“Easy to use, and learning is fast (for example, a new nurse from a psychiatric ward learned how to use it right away).”
“The patient list, which remains on the application based on the measurements, is very good – speeds up nursing.”
“Enough devices guarantee flexible use.”
