Medanets & Kainuu Social Welfare and Health Care Joint Authority

Primary health care has an equivalent documentation need as central hospitals. Therefore, Medanets solutions were decided to introduce not only in Kainuu central hospital but also in four primary health care units.

Improving patient safety and efficiency

Kainuu Social Welfare and Health Care Joint Authority introduced Medanets mobile point-of-care app in 2015. Their goal was to improve patient safety and boost operations through mobile practices.

In Kainuu, we are very satisfied with the solutions supplied by Medanets. Bedside nursing documentation improves patient safety and streamlines operations significantly. Our implementation project has been very successful, and it has stayed fully on schedule as well.  Medanets has proven to be a good and reliable partner.

Today the Medanets solution is utilised in Kainuu for browsing and recording patient observation values, for the automatic data transfers of patient monitors (monitored patients feature) and the systematic evaluation (Early Warning Score) of the patient’s condition, as well as for conducting risk analyses with the clinical forms feature (the Braden scale, nutritional risk screening (NRS2002), and the Falls Risk Assessment Tool (FRAT)).

Right treatment at the right time

Medanets app enables more harmonised service regardless of where the patient is being treated; the data is available anytime and anywhere. Nursing also becomes safer, as real-time patient data helps to ensure right treatment at the right time.

As document processing is integrated into a single mobile solution, the working process of healthcare professionals becomes easier as well. This also reduces the number of errors and incorrect entries. With the introduction of this solution, professionals have had more time for patient care – in several wards, up to more than 120 hours per month.
