Customers of Medanets gathered in Turku

The 2024 Medanets User Days were held in Hotel Kakola, Turku, on 14 and 15 February. The event was attended by more than 50 participants from Finland, Norway, the UK and Germany.

The participants of the User Days learned about customers’ experiences of the digitalisation of healthcare, the related change processes and the use of mobile solutions. Turku University Hospital invited the participants for a tour of the hospital facilities the evening before the event. Our international participants, in particular, found the visit useful.

Varied selection of topics

Professor Jarmo Oksi, chief of division, infectious diseases from Turku University Hospital held an interesting presentation on the identification and treatment of sepsis. Workshop participants discussed a mobile way of accessing medical records and the treatment of patients whose condition is worsening. Our partners Tietoevry, Monidor, Imprivata, CSIT and Mesalvo presented their solutions that, together with Medanets, create genuine added value for customers.

A band consisting of employees of the wellbeing services county of South Ostrobothnia entertained the audience at a cocktail event in the evening of the first User Day. On the morning of the second day, we took an armchair trip through the history of Hotel Kakola, a former prison.

One participant of the User Days summarised the programme of the event in their feedback:

An interesting and comprehensive selection of topics and a well-thought-out programme.

Best part: networking!

This year, the programme for the event was divided into two sections; one for Finnish customers and one for international customers. The participants were pleased with this solution. According to feedback from participants, networking has been one of the best parts of the event year after year, and 2024 was no exception: the more casual parts of the programme were spent with all of the participants together. This way, no one missed out on establishing international relations.

Highlights from the presentations: How to successfully deploy new operating models

According to feedback from participants, other important aspects in addition to networking are peer support, practical experiences, advice and tips. Below, we’ve put together some of the best practices selected from the User Days presentations to help successfully deploy operating models related to mobile solutions.

“At the start of the project, we specified a shared intent and goal that required commitment.”“A staggered approach to the deployment yielded positive feedback. I wouldn’t recommend deploying all the new features and solutions at once.”“The support of the supervisors and executives plays a huge role! In the early stages, in particular, encouraging and reminding employees to use the application is extremely important.”
“I recommend training a designated peer instructor for the unit.”“Some wards needed support, encouragement and even rewards.”“Organisations should require administration entries on all medications, not only those administered if needed.”

Thank you to all participants!

Together with our customers and partners, we put together a wonderful, informative event that scored a record-breaking 86 on the NPS scale from -100 to +100! This means that nearly all of the participants would recommend the event to a colleague or a friend. We want to extend our warmest thanks to those involved in the event and its arrangements and to everyone who provided feedback. User Days will be back next year!
