At the start of the year, we welcomed two professionals with a clinical background to Medanets: Anne and Julia. Both are part of our Service & Delivery team, and their roles extend across team boundaries so that their expertise can benefit the whole organisation.
I wanted a role where I could combine nursing and IT”
Anne Korhonen joined Medanets as a Service & Delivery Specialist at the beginning of the year. Trained both as a registered nurse and as a Bachelor of Business Administration in IT, she was looking for a role where she could bring these two fields together, and found exactly that at Medanets.
“Both nursing and IT genuinely interest me, and I want to contribute to both. I see considerable potential and a clear need for development in healthcare, particularly on the IT side,” Anne says.
In her role, Anne works on a broad range of Service & Delivery tasks, including installations, system implementations, user training and Helpdesk support. At the same time, she draws on her clinical experience in her day-to-day work. We believe her background in nursing brings valuable insight and perspective to our team.
Her decision to join Medanets was confirmed by the positive impression she gained during the recruitment process. “The company is based in Oulu, which is meaningful to me as someone with roots in the region,” Anne explains.
Her first weeks have been very positive. “The work community deserves a special mention. Everyone feels approachable, and there’s a real sense of ease, as if I had been here much longer. The role itself is interesting, and Medanets has a low organisational hierarchy and genuinely good people. It’s easy to ask questions, have discussions and make an impact. It feels like I’ve found the right place.”
Outside work, Anne enjoys spending time with her two-year-old child and their dog. She enjoys sport, both as a participant and as a spectator, as well as spending time in nature and travelling. Music also plays an important part in her life.
Clinical insight for customer projects and business development
Clinical Advisor Julia Koppinen is also part of the Service & Delivery team. In addition to delivering user training, her role focuses on supporting customers through process changes and contributing to the development of Medanets’ business, sales and marketing from a clinical perspective. Thanks to her language skills, she is closely involved in customer projects in German-speaking markets.
Julia brings nearly 20 years of experience in clinical nursing. She has worked in both specialised and primary healthcare settings, including hospital wards and health centre outpatient services. For the past five years, she held development roles within the Kymenlaakso wellbeing services county. Her work focused on designing and refining digital workflows, leading implementation processes and delivering training.
“I’ve used the Medanets app myself and seen the benefits it brings to a nurse’s daily work. In recent years, I also had the opportunity to collaborate with Medanets, including a year-long mobile documentation project. The cooperation has always been open and straightforward,” Julia says.
Her interest in Medanets as a potential employer grew over the years of collaboration. “The reliability and genuine commitment to acting in the best interests of customers are very real at Medanets, and that aligns with my own view of what good care should be. I’m delighted to be part of such a fantastic team. It’s exciting to help bring the best nursing app to hospitals across Europe,” she adds.
In her spare time, Julia keeps family life running smoothly and enjoys spending time with friends. “In the summer you’ll likely find me paddleboarding, in autumn out foraging for mushrooms, in winter taking a dip in icy water, and in spring doing a bit of gardening.”
