Case AdminUI – Administration and Reporting of Mobile Point-of-Care Solutions

For the fluency of care processes, adapting solutions implemented in an entire organisation to the varying requirements and practices of different units is of utmost importance. Furthermore, continuous and systematic monitoring of reports will assist in the optimisation of operations.

In late 2016, Medanets started to develop a tool for the administration and reporting of its solutions to enable better management of the customer environment and faster service. When hospitals and health centres are able to personalise their solutions, nursing does not have to be modified to meet the system, but rather the system can be modified to support the current nursing processes.

The tool is currently used by seven healthcare organisations in Finland and Sweden.

Administration – Responding to Special Requirements

Medanets’ AdminUI administration feature allows for specifying data input and viewing practices separately for each ward. For example, the name of each parameter and the location at which the parameter is shown – or whether it is shown at all – can be separately specified to prevent unnecessary data from hampering the use of the system. Different features of the app can also be hidden if the ward does not need them.

The Hospital District of Southwest Finland was eager to start using the administration feature of Medanets AdminUI, and our wards have been very pleased with it. The tool is easy to use and allows for quick reactions to the wards’ change requests and wishes. The introduction to the administration tool covered all aspects very well. All questions that have arisen have been answered quickly

Reporting – Evidence-Based Decision-Making

With the reporting feature of Medanets AdminUI, customers can view reports including the data they need, such as observation values, entries on administered medication, the number of devices used and the number of users. The tool can be used to, for instance, investigate how well the implementation of a new solution went, to ensure that any obstacles are addressed without delay.

The system also provides reports on the number of patients in each risk category based on the EWS (Early Warning Score) and risk assessment indicators to support operational planning.

The Medanets AdminUI reporting feature provides an easy way to monitor EWS recording at the organization and unit level, both in real time and retrospectively. From the graph, you can see at a glance the number of patients treated and EWS calculations made. It also shows the number of low-risk/medium-risk/high-risk patients over the period in question. The data can be used to support management decisions when assessing the use of EWS and the workload of the personnel in each review period
