The wellbeing services county of Ostrobothnia has implemented the Medanets mobile solution as part of a comprehensive information system that covers both primary and specialised healthcare. The Lifecare EHR (Electronic Health Record), delivered by Tietoevry Care, serves as the core of the system, with Medanets seamlessly integrated to support workflows.
The Medanets app enables nursing staff to document key patient data and access up-to-date information on their mobile devices, whether they are with the patient or on the move. The information documented with the app is instantly available to everyone involved in the care process, on both desktop and mobile devices. This improves the flow of information between healthcare professionals.
The introduction of the app streamlines nursing workflows and helps maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in inpatient wards.

The system’s delivery was phased, beginning in October 2024, with the Medanets app going live in early 2025. The project involved close collaboration between the customer, Tietoevry Care, and the customer’s IT partner, 2M-IT. The implementation includes a wide range of Medanets features: Dashboard, Observation values, Early Warning Score, Clinical forms, Monitored patients and Medication. The Medication feature also contains an add-on for medication images and information, which is currently being tested and will be rolled out later. In addition, Sepsis screening will be introduced at a later date.
At the customer’s request, Medanets delivered the key user training for the implementation project entirely via Microsoft Teams. The training sessions were conducted in both Finnish and Swedish. In addition, Medanets provided the customer with training videos in both languages. The trained key users then went on to train the application’s end users in the wards.
