Sneak Peek: Checklists
Check, tick off, and save. Mobile checklists for healthcare provide much-needed support for routine tasks and improve patient safety.
The purpose of healthcare checklists is to harmonise practices and eliminate human errors to improve patient safety and the quality of care. Traditionally, checklists used in care work have been in paper format. According to studies, their use tends to be inconsistent, and the full benefits of checklists are often not achieved [1; 2]. At Medanets, we have been listening to customers and we are now taking this tool from paper to mobile.
Benefits of Mobile Checklists
When checklists are available in the same mobile device as all other information and tools needed in patient care, their use will become a natural part of the workflow. Mobile checklists can also be stored automatically, instead of being buried in office folders or on computers only after they have been manually scanned. Moreover, electronically stored checklists can be easily accessed at another hospital, if necessary.
Checklists can be used as vital support for care work in a wide range of settings. Medanets tailors the checklists based on specific customer needs and requirements. So far, we have provided mobile checklists for preoperative, triage and MET care teams.
The new feature will be available as part of the Medanets application from the end of 2020.
