On what grounds does Medanets process personal data in connection with its service and delivery?

Medanets processes personal data in connection with its service and delivery because their processing is necessary for contractual reasons (Article 6b of the EU General Data Protection Regulation) or to comply with a legal obligation (Article 6c of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the EU Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745).

What is my personal data used for in Medanets’ service and delivery?

Our service and delivery will use your personal data in order to receive, store, process and respond to your support request.

What personal data does Medanets process?

The following information may be processed:

  • name
  • email address
  • phone number
  • organisation and position
  • other information provided by you

Please never add your own or others’ personal data to a support request unnecessarily.

Where did Medanets get my personal data?

Medanets received your personal data after you contacted our service and delivery team, for example by sending an email to help@medanets.com

Who else can receive my data besides Medanets?

Medanets will not share the data with outsiders. The data will only be used for the purpose of processing support requests and responding to requests.

Where can Medanets disclose or transfer my personal data?

Medanets will not disclose personal data to outsiders. The support requests and the sender’s email address, name and organisation name are stored in the Atlassian Jira Service Management tool. Atlassian servers are located in Europe (Germany and Ireland) and in the western parts of the United States. The data may be transferred to the Atlassian server in the United States.

We have an agreement with Atlassian on the processing of personal data, in which we have agreed to comply with the EU standard contractual clauses. The agreement also includes appropriate safeguards for the transfer of personal data to the United States.

How long does Medanets store my personal data?

The Medanets app is a medical device. Therefore, we have a legal obligation to store customer feedback and support requests related to the Medanets app for at least 10 years (EU Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745).

What rights do I have in relation to the processing of my personal data?

According to the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • receive information about the processing of your personal data
  • access your data
  • rectify your data
  • erase your data and be forgotten
  • restrict the processing of your data
  • object to the processing of your data
  • not be subject to automated decision-making.

Do I have to give my personal data to Medanets?

You do not have to provide your personal data to the support service. An organisation can also send a support request from an email address that does not contain a person’s name.

Will my personal data be used for automated decision-making?

No data in support requests is used for automated decision-making.
